In a new interview, Billy Ray Cyrus gave an update on Randy Travis' health, saying the country legend still needs prayers from his fans.

Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight,' Cyrus says his friend -- with whom he co-starred in the upcoming television pilot 'Evil Inclinations' -- is doing well, but adds, “If you love Randy Travis, keep praying for Randy Travis."

The two worked together on the project before Travis fell ill over the summer. In July the singer was hospitalized after suffering cardiomyopathy, a viral infection of the heart that can damage the heart muscles. He subsequently suffered a stroke and had to undergo emergency surgery.

Travis was released from the hospital in July, and has been working on getting his health back ever since. A representative for Travis tells ET he is “currently in Texas in physical therapy and doing great!”

According to Taste of Country, Travis plans to return home to his ranch in Texas this Friday (Oct. 11).
