Randy Travis Celebrates 25 Years With 2012 Tour
Country superstar Randy Travis continues to celebrate his silver anniversary this year with a concert tour that includes stops in 30-plus North American cities. The trek kicks off on Feb. 10 in Grand Ronde, Oregon at the Spirit Mountain Casino with additional shows throughout the U.S. and Canada.
In June 2011, the longtime Grand Ole Opry member marked the official beginning of his 25th year in country music with the release of 'Anniversary Celebration,' which features duets with Brad Paisley, Jamey Johnson, Shelby Lynne, Alan Jackson, Kristin Chenoweth, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, George Jones, Kris Kristofferson. Willie Nelson and Don Henley.
"I'm surprised at how fast the first 25 years have gone by," says the North Carolina native who helped usher in the neo-traditionalist movement of the mid-1980s. "It feels like only five."
To date, Randy has sold more than 20 million albums, scored 18 No. 1 singles and 29 Top 10 hits. He's the recipient of seven Grammys, five CMA and 10 ACM awards. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1986.
