Randy Houser and his wife, Jessa, have filed for divorce.

The Country Vibe reports that the 38-year-old country star and Jessa Lee Yantz made the decision to divorce after careful consideration and a trial separation.

The couple married on Sept. 2, 2011 in the Dominican Republic. They are the parents of a two-year-old son, West Yantz Houser. A representative for Houser tells the Country Vibe the couple will continue to share joint custody, and Houser will spend several days a week with his son when he is not on tour.

According to TMZ, Houser filed for divorce in March.

The singer's publicist verified the news in a statement on Thursday (May 15), saying, "Yes, I can confirm this is true. They are appreciative of the media’s sensitivity toward their request for privacy during this time."

Houser debuted his new single, 'Like a Cowboy,' on 'Letterman' Wednesday night (May 14). The song is the fourth single from his latest album, 'How Country Feels.' All three of the album's previous singles have reached No. 1.
