Randy Houser has always been a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, but with that easy charm he's always had now comes a heightened sense of calm. In the past year, he has gotten married, welcomed an adorable baby son and scored his first-ever No. 1 hit, after three albums and years of knocking on Nashville doors. From the first note of his debut single, "Anything Goes," the country music world knew this Mississippi native was a vocal powerhouse. But it took several more hits before he became the country music powerhouse he is today, giving him a quiet confidence.

Sure, Randy is still a self-deprecating jokester, but thanks in part to How Country Feels, his critically-acclaimed new album, he's feeling a bit more comfortable in his own musical skin. The singer-songwriter stopped by our New York City studios last month to perform several songs from the new project, including its chart-topping title track. Come back to The Boot tomorrow (March 20) to watch Randy's AOL Music Sessions performances and interview, and in the meantime, check out our "Behind the Sessions" video below for a backstage peek at our visit with the unassuming star.
