RaeLynn has released the video for her latest single, "For a Boy." The song is from an upcoming new album.

The video shows the former The Voice contestant in love with a man who can't decide if he feels the same way.

""For a Boy" I wrote about guys [who] always want to be macho and never really want to wear their heart on their sleeves," RaeLynn explains, "but when they do, there's something pretty special about it."

The song's story was inspired by something that happened in the singer's personal life.

“I wrote it about this dinner date I went on, and this guy was super transparent with me and kinda wore his heart on his sleeve,” she shares. “You know, guys always wanna be macho and that kinda thing, so I had this idea of ‘for a boy, this guy’s pretty transparent and cool.’”

Adds director TK McKamy, "The whole piece is about the relationship, the arc of it and the fail of it. It's about a guy who doesn't get it. It's about a guy who doesn't get what's in front of him."

The video is a sharp contrast to the video for RaeLynn's previous single, "God Made Girls," which showed a younger, playful side of the singer.

"I am so excited about the "For a Boy" music video," she says. "My vision was a throwback to the Marilyn Monroe look with a modern feel. It was not only a blast to make but shows my fans, some of whom have been growing up with me over the last few years, another side of who I am as I mature from a teen into a young woman."

RaeLynn has earned spots on not one but two of the biggest tours of the year: She will serve as the opening act for Rascal Flatts on their 2015 Riot Tour, which kicks off on May 29 in St. Louis, Mo., and she will also join Miranda Lambert on Lambert's 2015 Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour, which begins this fall.
