Radney Foster to Release New Album

Radney Foster is set to release his first full album of new material since his 2009 release, 'Revival.'

'Everything I Should Have Said' is set for release on May 13 by Foster's Devil's River Records. The former Foster & Lloyd member recorded the album at Dockside Studios in Louisiana in order to get away from the fast pace of Nashville.

"I wanted the album to have a band feel, and to do that I knew we needed to get away from schedules and cell phones," he says.

Dockside sits along the Louisiana bayou on the site of an abandoned brothel, which Foster says lent a 'swampier' approach to the album.

"I'm always trying to find a little piece of the truth," he says. "My challenge is, how do you have another take on a love song? How do you keep it interesting?"

While Foster has talent behind the microphone, many country fans will know him best for penning songs for Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Sara Evans and the Dixie Chicks. Foster is also known for taking up-and-coming artists under his wing -- he can even take credit for convincing Musgraves to move to Nashville.

“He was actually one of the people who really convinced me to move to Nashville, because I met him when I was in Austin,” she says. “One of the things he told me was, ‘You’ve got to be present to win.’ And it really struck a chord with me, and I decided to move.”
