Natalie Stovall and the Drive have joined a lineup of celebrities helping spread the word about Veterans Matter, a group working to help homeless veterans.

The Ohio-based organization will be airing public service announcements in 110 US markets in May featuring Stovall, Darius Rucker, Jennifer Nettles, Stevie Nicks, Kix BrooksKid Rock, John Fogerty, John Mellencamp, Darryl Worley, Dusty Hill, Emerson Drive, and author Mitch Albom.

The 30-second ads are meant to encourage listeners to support Veterans Matter by texting "VETS" to 41444, with funds going directly to helping decrease the number of homeless veterans in the country.

The organization was started in 2012 by Ken Leslie when he learned that one of the biggest hurdles for most homeless veterans is coming up with a rental deposit, since that is not covered by the HUD-VASH voucher program. So far, they have helped house 235 veterans and families in six states, with a goal of helping 1,000 more in 2014.

More information about the program is available at VeteransMatter.org.
