‘Nashville’ Adds Two More New Castmembers
When Nashville premieres on Jan 5., there are going to be a lot of new faces! According to Deadline, CMT has just announced Joseph David-Jones and Cameron Scoggins will join the cast as recurring characters in Season 5.
David-Jones will be playing the role of Clay, a charming young musician who suffers from intense mood swings. He joins the cast after a nationwide search for the new character, which included auditions in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville. David-Jones is also a new cast member on the CW's Legends of Tomorrow and recently featured in Allegiant, the third film in the Divergent trilogy.
Scoggins will be taking the role of Zach Welles, a Rayna Jaymes superfan and tech billionaire out of Silicon Valley. He will show up to present Jaymes with an exciting new proposition ... that may lead to dangerous results. Scoggins comes from a series of television appearances, including The Blacklist, Elementary and The Good Wife. Along with Nashville, he's also slated to appear on NBC's Shades of Blue.
Scoggins and David-Jones join a cast of beloved series regulars like Connie Britton, Charles Esten and Hayden Panettiere, along with three new female characters. Bridgit Mendler, Jen Richards and Rhiannon Giddens will all be joining Season 5 when it debuts in a special two-hour premiere on Jan. 5. Nashville will be broadcast and streamed on CMT and streamed on Hulu, which currently carries the show’s previous seasons.
