New country releases are a little light as we head into the Christmas rush, but December still holds some important albums in store from both veteran artists, and two promising newcomers.

Jake Owen will release his fourth studio album on Dec. 3. 'Days of Gold' is the follow-up to his breakthrough, 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night,' which reached No. 1 and placed four consecutive No. 1 singles. Its title song and lead single is already climbing the charts.

Carrie Underwood will head up a large cast in releasing 'The Sound of Music Live!,' the soundtrack album to her upcoming debut in the live television adaptation of 'The Sound of Music.' The album drops Dec. 3, while the live broadcast is slated to air on Dec. 5.

The following week will see two relative newcomers square off. Krystal Keith will release her first full-length album, 'Whiskey and Lace,' on Dec. 10. The album features 'Daddy Dance With Me,' which became an internet sensation after she surprised her father, Toby Keith, with it at her wedding. Her recently-released single 'Get Your Redneck On' also appears.

Parmalee will also release their debut album on Dec. 10. The rising country group were very involved in the writing of the 12 tracks on 'Feels Like Carolina,' working with some of Nashville's hottest songwriters. The album's second single, 'Carolina,' is currently at radio.
