Miranda Lambert Slams Tabloid Reports About Recent Weight Loss

Miranda Lambert is speaking out. The singer, who showed off a new, svelte figure at the recent CMA Awards, has a few choice words for the magazines that say it was surgery that helped her shed the extra pounds.

Lambert is no stranger to tabloid fodder. The songstress' marriage to fellow country star Blake Shelton is often mentioned, with rumors swirling that the two are heading for divorce. Her husband, who tweeted a humorous response following the allegation that their impending split would cost in excess of $40 million, says they have learned to laugh off the false stories.

“If you’re in the public eye, people are going to take shots at you,” Shelton notes.

Lambert, who took home the Female Vocalist of the Year honor at the CMA Awards, will have a chance to add a few more trophies to her collection next month, as well as show off her slimmed down figure on the red carpet. The singer is nominated for four American Country Awards, including Artist of the Year: Female.

The 2013 American Country Awards will air live from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 8PM ET on Fox.
