Miranda Lambert has written a new song, but it's not for an upcoming album. The songstress penned the tune 'Roots and Wings' for an ad for Ram Trucks.

"I got red dirt stains on my boots and jeans / Calloused fingers from my guitar strings / Wild like the wind in the tall pine trees / I got roots, and I got wings," Lambert croons in the song.

"I am very inspired by what the Ram brand stands for -- being who you are, working hard, staying true to your roots," Lambert says. "I wanted to write a song that would represent all of those things. 'Roots and Wings' is personal to me, about where I come from and where I am going. The guys at Ram really made the lyrics come to life with the imagery, and I hope it speaks to people the way it does to me."

The accompanying video, which you can watch above, flashes between scenes of the songstress singing on a front porch, scenic images from a rural town and Lambert driving a large Ram truck.

"Miranda Lambert is a perfect partner for Ram,"  Robert Hegbloom, president and CEO of Ram Brand, FCA -- North America, adds. "In our very first meeting, we saw the connections between her core values and those of the Ram Truck brand -- common traits like hard-working, determined, goal-oriented, tough and a driving purpose to perform brilliantly at the highest levels. She's been around trucks her entire life, from being born on a farm to owning a ranch now, and she lives her life by her own rules, just like so many of our Ram truck owners."

Lambert will perform for the 2015 Grammy Awards, which will air on Feb. 8 at 8 PM ET on CBS. She is nominated for four Grammys, including Best Country Album, for her recent 'Platinum' record.

Lambert is currently out on the road on her Certified Platinum Tour. See a list of her upcoming shows here.
