Miranda LambertTexas-born Miranda Lambert has made Oklahoma her place of residence, ever since purchasing a ranch there next to boyfriend Blake Shelton's property. But while she loves where she's living, she says she'll never think of it as "home."

"I feel like I gained some independence by buying some land, some animals, and raising chickens," she tells the Oklahoma Gazette. "But for my mother's sake, I won't call Oklahoma my home state!"

Part of the reason Oklahoma feels so natural for Miranda, she says, is its similarity to the Lone Star state. "It's so much like Texas. Sometimes I think the rivalry is just funny because we're so much alike -- the people where I came from and now where I have my farm. It's beautiful there. It's 45 minutes from the [Texas] border, and it's two hours from any airport. Sometimes it sucks when you have two hours to drive home, but once you get there, it's worth it!"

Currently opening for Brad Paisley on the American Saturday Night tour, Miranda has already shared a bill with some of country's biggest stars, including Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, George Strait and Keith Urban. Calling the Brad gig "icing on the cake," she says all her success -- including a Grammy nod and the No. 1 album, 'Revolution' -- came at just the right time.

"I'm a little more stable in my life [now]," she admits. "I have the regular, small-town-girl side to me that likes to make cupcakes and live on a farm, and then I have this rowdy, crazy, head-banging, rock-star girl side that is my life on the road. I feel this record shows a more complete picture of who I am."

Penning all 15 songs on the album -- including the two hit singles, 'Dead Flowers' and 'White Liar,' Miranda isn't about to hold anything back. "I mean every word I say in every lyric of every song on this record and every record I've ever done ... I would never take back one word or one lyric or point I've ever made, because it's part of who I am. If you're into honesty, I have the record for you!"

The American Saturday Night tour kicks off tomorrow night (Jan. 7) in San Antonio, Texas, and runs through March 6.
