Miranda Lambert Duet Partner Wish List Includes Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift

Miranda Lambert is one of the reigning female stars in country music, yet she has no interest in enjoying that lofty position all by herself. The superstar entertainer, who has already formed one trio, Pistol Annies, with her pals Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe, actually wants to collaborate with the women with whom she competes for country radio airplay.

"I would like to work with [Taylor] Swift and with Carrie Underwood too," Miranda tells Yahoo. "There is room for [all of] us three [in country music]. We are all three different [types] of country -- well, Taylor's kind of all over everywhere -- but I think it would be cool for the three of us to collaborate."

Miranda believes they would all come out ahead if the three artists were to join forces. "I love girl power," she explains. "The more the merrier! It's not competition. It makes us all look better to help each other."

The reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year considers it her mission to help other women succeed in country music. "When I got my award, I mentioned every woman in that category with me," she recalls of her fellow CMA nominees (including Carrie and Taylor, plus Kelly Clarkson and Martina McBride). "I grew up on Martina, I used to try to sing like her, but of course no one can. We [women] are very few right now. We have a jolt of women in country, [but] the young females are non-existent right now and I refuse to accept that. I'm one of those girls on top at the moment and I'm so thankful. I feel like there is a time for every artist to have their time, but I know it will come time to pass that trophy on to the next. I hope there's enough females in that category."

Miranda is the only female artist nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Album, for Four the Record. She will also perform, along with her current touring partner Dierks Bentley during the Grammy telecast, which airs live Sunday, Feb. 10, at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
