Watch Miranda Lambert Duet With Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild at 3rd and Lindsley Show

Miranda Lambert has been known to show up unannounced at small clubs for surprise gigs, but her Tuesday night (July 28) show at Nashville's 3rd and Lindsley was one for the ages, a guitar pull-style acoustic show packed with talent ... and even a surprise special guest.

When tickets for the Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Unplugged show went on sale last week -- and sold out in less than two minutes -- fans knew they'd be seeing Lambert, as well as RaeLynn, Clare Dunn, Courtney Cole and songwriters Natalie Hemby and Jessi Alexander. They also got artist and hit songwriter Jon Randall, who is Alexander's husband, and tunesmith Luke Laird (also Hemby's publisher). Oh, and Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild.

Lambert first welcomed Fairchild to the stage to help out with "Smokin' and Drinkin'," Lambert's new single that features Little Big Town (see video below). The song was written by Hemby, Laird and Shane McAnally, and Lambert got LBT to help out on the song after finding out that they, too, wanted to cut the tune.

“[Little Big Town member Karen Fairchild] told me, ‘You have a song I want!,’” Lambert recalls. “So I said, ‘If I cut it, will y’all sing on it?’ This was at the CMT Awards, just joking around in the dressing room. But when I went in to record it, I thought, ‘If Little Big Town want to sing on my record, we are d–n sure taking advantage of it!’"

At the end of the night, Fairchild came back out to perform her country quartet's No. 1 single "Girl Crush" with Lambert. Fairchild took the first verse and finished the song off, while Lambert stunningly belted out the second verse to loud cheers. Press play on the video above to see their performance.

The hits were plentiful throughout the entire show: Lambert's own "Baggage Claim," "White Liar" and "Automatic," among others, all made the setlist, and Fairchild sang LBT's "Pontoon." Lee Brice's "I Drive Your Truck" and Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" were both sung by their writer, Alexander -- who also performed Blake Shelton's "Mine Would Be You," another tune that she wrote.

According to the Tennessean, Lambert sang along to the hit song, and while many of her ex-husband's tunes were playing over the bar's speakers before the show began, Lambert did not discuss their recent divorce at all from stage.

Proceeds from Tuesday night's show will benefit a brand-new scholarship that Lambert has established to help female students majoring in music business, songwriting or entertainment industry studies at Belmont University’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business.
