Rascal Flatts are sending their love and support to NASCAR driver Mike Wallace and his daughter, who were assaulted in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday night (June 17), after attending one of the band's concerts.

"So saddened to hear what happened to Mike Wallace & his daughter after the Charlotte concert," the band tweeted on Monday (June 20). "Sending love & prayers for a fast recovery."

Wallace and his daughter, Lindsey, were attacked at PNC Music Pavilion, where the show took place. The NASCAR driver tells WBTV that as they left the concert, he spoke to someone parked in front of him in a Lucas Lawn and Landscaping Company truck.

"A young man on the back of the truck, and he just started going crazy screaming at everybody, the cuss words," Wallace says. "That's all I remember. The only part that I remember of it is saying, 'Man, what’s your problem, what’s going on?'"

Three men, none of whom Wallace had ever met, attacked him and his daughter, repeatedly punching and kicking them.

“They just knocked me out. When I come to, my daughter is laying on the ground, my son-in-law [was] on top of me trying to protect me,” Wallace recalls. “They were kicking me, beating on me.”

Wallace was hospitalized after the incident; three of his front teeth had been knocked a few inches into his mouth, he suffered a black eye, causing impaired vision, and he needed 10 stitches on his lip. His daughter was taken away on a stretcher and brought to the hospital.

Three alleged assailants (Paul Lucas, Nathan Lucas and Randolph Mangum) were arrested on Friday night, according to Motorsport.com. Their court appearance is set for July 22 in Mecklenburg County District Court.

Though one would hope country concerts would stay injury- and altercation-free, Rascal Flatts spoke up about this matter to FOX411 Country in 2014. At that time, lead singer Gary LeVox said, "these sort of things happen periodically every year and normally in the summertime," adding, "I think when you're outside in the heat and people are out drinking and listening and having a good time, I think they don't know when to shut it down before it's too late."

The trio is currently on their Rhythm & Roots Tour, with special guest Kelsea Ballerini.
