Mickey Guyton’s Grandma Has Passed Away

Mickey Guyton is mourning the death of her grandmother. According to the singer, her grandma passed away on Sunday (Feb. 5).

Following her grandmother's death, Guyton tweeted on Sunday that "Heaven got an angel today." The artist did not reveal any further details about her grandma's passing, but she has shared some photos on social media: One (above) shows Guyton with her grandmother, while another (below) shows Guyton's grandmother standing in a kitchen. On both Twitter and Instagram, in reply to her posts, Guyton's fans have been sending their prayers and condolences.

Just a few weeks ago, on Jan. 11, Guyton asked fans for prayers for her grandmother: "Y'all please say a prayer for my grandma. She's not doing well," Guyton tweeted. "Pray for comfort as she makes a new transition."

Although Guyton's grandmother, sadly, won't get to see her granddaughter get married, she did live to learn the happy news of Guyton's engagement. In November, the up-and-comer announced that she was engaged; she hasn't shared many details about her fiance, but Guyton has revealed that he's a lawyer, and that they've been dating long distance for a few years now.

Guyton's most recent single is “Heartbreak Song." She’s currently working on her debut album.
