Michael Jackson Surprises Guests at Dixie Chick’s Party
Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines had a surprise guest at her Halloween party -- Michael Jackson. And no, it wasn't an impersonator, though many guests just assumed it was someone dressed as the King of Pop for the occasion.
"A couple people went up to him and told him he had the greatest Michael Jackson costume ever," Maines told radio shock-jock Howard Stern, adding that even her party's DJ assumed it was a costume and started playing 'Thriller' when Jackson walked in.
Maines says Jackson arrived with his longtime friend, Veronique Peck, the widow of iconic actor Gregory Peck. He also brought his three children, the eldest of whom Maines called one of "the most well-adjusted" and "self-assured" children she's ever met. But when Stern asked her if she actually spoke to Jackson, Maines wasn't as complimentary.
"I think maybe he's stuck in time as a child," she replied. "I felt like maybe he's a child. He's got lots of handlers."
