Old Crow Medicine Show and Jerry Douglas are just two of the big names headed to MerleFest 2016, which is slated for April 28-May 1.

OCMS made time to play MerleFest in 2014, and they'll be back for another go-around in 2016, after a busy year that included a Grammy Awards win for Best Folk Album. Douglas, meanwhile, is one of only five artists who has played at every MerleFest since the event began in 1988.

Along with Old Crow Medicine Show and Douglas, the 2016 MerleFest lineup includes John Prine, the Steep Canyon Rangers, Peter Rowan, Alison Brown and Grace & Tony. The current lineup features about 100 artists, with more updates still to come. The complete current list of MerleFest acts can be found on the event's official website.

MerleFest 2016 will take place at Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, N.C. The event will feature activities for the whole family, including nature walks, JamCamp and an AcousticKids showcase. For those who write country music as well as listen to it, MerleFest sponsors the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest, which gives songwriters the chance to perform their work in front of professional songwriters and Nashville music industry experts.
