The first set of performers has been announced for MerleFest 2015, and already, the four-day event promises to be one not to be missed.

The eclectic lineup includes the Marshall Tucker Band, Hot Rize, the Del McCoury Band, Jim Lauderdale, Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis, Jesse and Noah Bellamy, Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn and several more.

"It’s always a thrill for us to announce the performers at MerleFest each year because we take pride in always presenting a lineup that is dynamic and diverse,” says Ted Hagaman, the festival's director. “It’s the quality of the artists and performances that our guests see over the four days of the festival that, in turn, creates another important element of MerleFest’s success: People truly feel that the festival is a great value.

"So many music fans and families return year after year, making MerleFest a regular spring tradition," he adds. "We will always work to make that tradition continue.”

MerleFest is an annual musical gathering, held in Wilkesboro, N.C. The festival, which began in 1988, was hosted by Doc Watson until his death in 2012. It was created in memory of Watson's son, Eddy Merle, who passed away in a farm tractor accident in 1985.

MerleFest will be held April 23-26. Proceeds benefit Wilkes Community College. Tickets will go on sale on Nov. 11 and will be available for purchase here.
