Matthew McConaughey ‘Playing the Part’ in Jamey Johnson Video

Jamey Johnson's upcoming music video for 'Playing the Part' will have some major star power ... and a gorilla? The prolific country singer/songwriter has enlisted his good buddy, Texas native Matthew McConaughey, to direct the clip. Celebuzz has footage of the friends on the set of the video, which apparently involves Matthew in a gorilla suit! Watch it here.

Jamey and Matthew first met at the 2009 ACM Awards in Las Vegas, when the 'We Are Marshall' star and his girlfriend Camila Alves stopped by Jamey's dressing room to congratulate him on winning Song of the Year for 'In Color.' The couple also showed their appreciation for his album 'That Lonesome Song,' and, as we all know, nothing sparks a friendship like mutual admiration.

A few months later, Matthew took to his blog, where he called the 'High Cost of Living' singer "one of my favorite artists." The compliment followed Jamey's performance at the actor's surprise 40th birthday celebration. The soiree -- which Matthew referred to as "epic" -- lasted all night, finally winding down at 4:30 AM.

It's a good week for Jamey, whose latest album 'The Guitar Song' debuted atop the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart with more than 63,000 copies sold in its first week.
