Martina McBride's CMA Award nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year is the 29th of her career. But for McBride, whose first nomination was 20 years ago in 1994, it's still just as exciting as the first time.

"I am so happy and grateful to be nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of The Year!" she gushes on her Facebook page. "I did NOT see that one coming! It's just the icing on the cake of the past few months of releasing 'Everlasting' and doing this tour.....having fun and finding freedom in what I do. And falling in love with singing all over again.

"Thanks to any and all of you who have supported me and my music," she continues. "You have allowed me to live my dream. And thanks to God for putting so many blessings in my life. xoxo"

The Kansas native's 'Everlasting' album, which was released in April, debuted at the top of the charts. The record, her first release on her own Kobalt record label, was her spin on classics by some of music's most iconic artists, including Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding and others.

“Putting ‘Everlasting’ out on my own label felt like a good decision,” she notes. “Kobalt has many of the elements of a major label, and it just seemed like the right time to try a different business model. It is a lot of responsibility, but exciting at the same time to be doing things a bit differently. We put together a great team to carry this project through.”

McBride has won the CMA Award for Female Vocalist of the Year four times. Other nominees in the category this year include Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.

The 48th annual CMA Awards will air live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 8 PM ET on ABC.
