Why We Dig Him: While Mark has had the opportunity to sail the world, his music embodies the small town in East Texas where he was born and raised. Mark honed his singing and songwriting chops while serving in the U.S. Navy. In 1997, he started a seven-piece band named Cooke County Line. Through that venture, Mark began playing shows all over Central Texas and the Southern U.S. Nearly thirteen years later began his solo career, as he signed to Cotton Valley Records and has released his first single, 'Can't Cheat in a Small Town,' written by Brad Wolf, Abby Boykin and Don Goodman. Mark recently moved to Nashville, and is still in the studio working on his debut album with veteran producers J Gary Smith (Andy Griggs) and John Smith (Steve Holy). The record is expected later this year.
