Maggie Sajak may be known for her famous father, longtime 'Wheel of Fortune' host Pat Sajak, but she hopes to be known for her music. The 18-year-old will release her new single, 'Wild Boy,' on Aug. 22, which she says has a universal message.

“All of us girls that have had a wild boy in our life, and all of the guys that have been wild boys at some point, will understand the message of this song,” Sajak says. “It’s about making choices with your heart and deciding when to put your heart on the line for the captivating guy you just can’t forget about.”

The song, written by veteran tunesmiths Aimee Mayo, Chris Lindsey, Caitlyn Smith and Troy Verges, includes an innovative video, shot in Brooklyn, N.Y.

"The video represents the personal experiences of a girl who has a wild boy in her life," Sajak tells Teen Vogue. "It's about being empowered and making decisions with your heart. At some point or another, we have all let our heart take the lead."

The songstress, who is juggling a blossoming music career with her studies at Ivy League college Princeton University, says she inherited her love of music from her mother, Lesly Sajak.

"My dad used to be a radio DJ, but other than that, I'd have to say he's not exactly a talented musician," she notes. "[My mother] sang and played keyboard in a band when she was my age, and has always listened to great music."

The Maryland native acknowledges she could have picked any genre of music, but feels most at home with country. “I feel so blessed to be a part of the country music world," Sajak explains. "For so many years, I have related other artists’ songs to my life, and now I have the opportunity to add to that collection of stories through my own music."
