What a year it's been for Maddie & Tae. Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye burst onto the country music scene last summer, and in the last 12 months, they've certainly earned their New Artist of the Year title in the 2015 Golden Boot Awards.

In July of 2014, Maddie & Tae released their debut single, "Girl in a Country Song," as well as its accompanying (and hilarious) music video. In October, the twosome broke into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, making them the first female duo in seven years to do so. In December, the young women -- both Marlow and Dye are just 19 years old -- hit No. 1 on that chart, becoming the first female act to grab the slot in more than two years and the first female act to have a debut song go to No. 1 in almost five years.

Maddie & Tae's second single, "Fly," was released in January, and its music video debuted in late February. Both "Fly" and "Girl in a Country Song" were on the duo's debut EP, released in October, and will be on their debut album, Start Here, which is coming out on Aug. 28.

Marlow and Dye earned a coveted spot in the New Faces of Country Music showcase at the 2015 Country Radio Seminar, and this week, they'll be playing Nashville's LP Field, during the 2015 CMA Music Festival's nightly concerts.

The female duo beat out Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett and Cole Swindell to earn New Artist of the Year; the received nearly 37 percent of the votes in the category. Maddie & Tae also took home Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year in this year's Golden Boot Awards, making these country newcomers 2015's big winners!
