All of Luke Bryan's friends -- and fans -- have been saying, "When's the new album coming out?" The answer is that Luke's sophomore disc, titled 'Doin' My Thing,' will hit stores on Oct. 6.

"I can't wait for my fans to hear my new record," says the busy singer, who's been out on the road with Dierks Bentley, Trace Adkins and Kenny Chesney. "I have wrapped three years of touring, hard work and most importantly meeting fans, and I think all of that growth is reflected on this album."

In addition to prepping the release of the new album, Luke, who's an avid hunter and fisherman, is serving as the 2009 honorary chairman for National Hunting and Fishing Day, which takes place Sept. 26. He joins some impressive company: among the past chairmen are sports greats Wade Boggs, Arnold Palmer and Terry Bradshaw.

National Hunting and Fishing Day was formalized by Congress in 1972, as an annual celebration to remind the public that conservation depends on funding and leadership from hunters and anglers.
