Luke Bryan and Lee Greenwood surprised a packed Allen Arena at Lipscomb University in Nashville by showing up unexpectedly at a Charlie Daniels-hosted event.

The free concert took place on Tuesday (March 25) as part of the Copperweld Charlie Daniels' Scholarship for Heroes event. Featured performances included the Charlie Daniels Band, Clint Black, Kellie Pickler and the Grascals.

Greenwood surprised attendees by taking the stage early in the evening to perform his hit 'God Bless the USA.' The arena erupted with excitement when Bryan took the stage later in the evening.

"The sacrifices these veterans and their families have made help keep our country free," Bryan says. "We should take care of them in whatever ways that we can, and that includes a good college education."

Proceeds from the event, which Daniels began in 2010, went to benefit Lipscomb's Charlie Daniels Scholarship for Heroes Fund. The performances were streamed worldwide and will broadcast to all US military bases in the upcoming weeks. The show can be seen at stagehop.com.

“This show just gets bigger every year as the Nashville community continues to show how much they love and support our military,” Daniels says.
