Lucas Hoge is climbing the charts with his current single, 'Should've Loved,' and now he's offering readers of The Boot an exclusive free download of the song.

The inspirational country singer has reached as high as No. 28 on the Music Row Country Break Out chart with the song, which is his third release to country radio. Written with Hoge's good friends, Tim Gates and Brad Hull, the song was inspired by a real-life experience that happened right before their eyes.

"While getting ready for this writing session, one of our friends was down the hall, on his cell phone, pacing back and forth.  The look on his face was that of not so good news," Hoge shares. "He came into the writing room and looked devastated. We asked him what was wrong and he said, "After 30 some years of marriage, my parents are calling it quits.'"

He adds, "Our hearts sank deep for him and we consoled as much as we could. I then asked if he wanted to talk about it, or what he thinks went wrong, and his response was, 'My dad just said, I should've loved her more.' The song was born! We pulled our inspiration from those words, hoping to inspire people to live in the moment. Love, family and friends are what's important in life."
