So many moving pieces have to come together to make sure a concert goes off without a hitch: the sound equipment and lights have to work properly, the artists have to be "on" and the crowd has to be into it. Logan Mize says that he can tell almost instantaneously once he gets on stage if he'll have a good set.

“It’s usually about the first four bars of a song," Mize tells Taste of Country at the 2015 Taste of Country Music Festival. "You break into that first song, and if it feels good and the crowd’s responding and you got good guitar tone and the PA’s working well, you know it’s going to work."

Mize played Day 1 of the third annual event, and he thought his set went "great."

"Great crowd," he says. "I loved it."

Mize released Pawn Shop Guitar, his debut EP on Arista Nashville, in late May. The project features five tracks, all co-written by the singer, including "Can't Get Away From a Good Time."
