As LoCash have been working on new music, the duo has also been reaching into a more unexpected commercial venue: wine sales.

LoCash have partnered with Stonum Vineyards in Lodi, Calif., to release a signature wine line, Shipwrecked. The duo will release five wines on the label over the next three years, including a Sauvignon blanc, which is available now, a Cabernet blend, a Chardonnay, an old vine Zinfandel and a Syrah.

“We have always been huge wine guys,” band member Preston Brust says. “A good bottle of wine is like a good song -- its various ‘notes’ and aromas take your mind and senses to new depths. It’s a creative experience. I think that’s why we like it so much.”

Brust and bandmate Chris Lucas met Jonathan Ozor, who co-owns Stonum Vineyards with his cousin, Michael Stonum, in Apsen, Colo., in 2014. Ozor says he was "immediately impressed" with the duo's wine knowledge, and the creation of the Shipwrecked line followed.

“Shipwrecked is a state of mind," Lucas says. "Whether you’re shipwrecked, on an island in literal terms, shipwrecked at your job, in a relationship or some other way in your personal life, things can always be made better by great friends, great music and great wine.”

"Shipwrecked" is also the name of a song that LoCash have been working on and playing for fans, and the sound is a bit different than what audiences may expect from them.

"I had been listening to a lot of John Legend at the time, so I wanted a song that sounded like John Legend, with some guitar in it, and really make it kind of like a country version of that kind of thing," Brust explains. "But I wanted the lyrics to really be honest.

"A lot of people, when they're interviewing us, they'll ask a question, like a fun question, and usually the fun question is always the same: 'If you're shipwrecked on an island, what's the one thing you have to have?'" he adds. "And so, I sat down at the piano, and I said, 'You know what, here's what I've gotta have.' And you've gotta hear the song to find out, but it's really cool. It's a really cool song."

The band's 2014 Shipwrecked Towne Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is now available for purchase at ShipwreckedWines.com. Each bottle is $28.

LoCash are currently out on their 2015 I Love This Life Tour; a full list of upcoming dates is available on their website. They will also play the 2015 Taste of Country Music Festival and Country Jam 2015, both being held in June.
