The LoCash Cowboys are used to facing challenges head on. The duo, comprised of Preston Burst and Chris Lucas, have gone from playing small bars and clubs, to making their Grand Ole Opry debut earlier this month. But it was a segment the pair taped for the Travel Channel's new show 'Man V. Food Nation' that was perhaps their most difficult -- and delicious.

The show, hosted by Adam Richman, gives guests a difficult food challenge at local restaurants all across the country. The guys' challenge, staged at Nashville eatery Rooster's Texas Style BBQ, was to each consume a 72-ounce steak in one hour, along with a large baked potato, a salad and two slices of Texas toast.

"I never want to eat a steak again," Preston tells Taste of Country. "When the steak came out of the kitchen, it was the scariest thing we'd ever seen!"

"It really was," Lucas confirms. "Would we eat that thing again? No. Would we get on 'Man v. Food Nation' again with Adam? Absolutely, because we had such a great time with him. It was such a cool environment!"

"It was a big steak but even bigger fun doing this challenge," Preston adds.

The segment was taped in March, in front of a live audience which included Vince Gill and his daughter cheering on the men. The episode will air on Wednesday, June 8, at 9:00 PM ET. Preston and Chris will head to Rooster's to watch their appearance on 'Man V. Food Nation' with their fans. "It's going to be cool to finally see the episode, but we were hurting after the challenge," Preston admits.

Lo Cash Cowboys' appearance at Rooster's coincides with CMA Music Festival, where they will perform two shows. Keep track of their schedule here.
