Little Big Town has experienced a death in the band's immediate family, causing the band to postpone their tour schedule to take time to grieve. The announcement, which came today via the band's Facebook page, concerns two California shows scheduled for this week, as well as the cancellation of their scheduled appearance on Tuesday's "Tonight Show With Jay Leno."

There were no further details shared about whose family member has died or what relation the deceased had to the band, aside from the note that it was immediate family.

"Sadly, the Little Big Town family has suffered a loss in their immediate family and will have to cancel their upcoming concerts in Riverside, CA (11/28) and Los Angeles, CA (11/29). Riverside, CA will be rescheduled at a later date and the Los Angeles show at The Wiltern will now take place on February 8, 2013," reads the statement. "Tickets for The Wiltern show will be honored on the rescheduled night. The band would like to thank their fans for their understanding and compassion during this very difficult time."

This sad news comes toward the end of what has been such a happy year for the country quartet. Earlier this month, they were honored with their first two CMA awards, for Vocal Group of the Year and Single of the Year for "Pontoon," which was their first-ever chart topper. Their No. 1 album, Tornado, was released in September to fan and critical acclaim.

Little Big Town will be touring with Keith Urban during the North American leg of his tour next year, which begins in July.
