"You're a hero to a lot of us," Tim McGraw says to Lionel Richie in a new video (below) that takes fans behind-the-scenes of the making of the music legend's 'Tuskegee' album. And while every duet partner on the project shares Tim's sentiments, the admiration is mutual. Lionel tells The Boot he is a big fan of every country artist he handpicked for the CD, due in stores March 27. So, much to the surprise of some of the singers, he gave them all of the creative power.

"I wanted them to own it; I wanted to make it a part of who they are," Lionel tells The Boot. "A lot of times when you do duet albums, they try to copy the artist they're paying tribute to. What I wanted to do was bring in everybody and their arrangement so that it would sound like something they would do on their own."

In the clip below, we see Lionel ironically lying on the floor with Rascal Flatts after recording 'Dancing on the Ceiling.' We also catch him in a rare recording session with the recuperating Shania Twain, who duets with the icon on 'Endless Love.' While we wait on the full album to come out, you can get a taste of it by downloading Lionel and Shania's track, which is already available on iTunes here.

Also in the video, we see a lot of funny moments from the making of the album.

"You could've been in the Commodores, you just weren't born soon enough," Lionel says to his 'Say You, Say Me' duet partner, Jason Aldean.

"I don't think I had the hair either," Jason quips.
