Lindsay Ell has released her newest single, 'Shut Me Up,' from Stoney Creek Records.

The fast-driving revenge song, written by Grammy winners Zach Crowell, Brett James and Hillary Lindsey, shows off Ell's skills on vocals and lead guitar. 'Shut Me Up' is practically the opposite of her sweet debut single, 'Trippin' on Us.'

"You only get one shot to get that first impression," Ell tells Billboard. "I'm so passionate about what I do and who I am. As a guitar player, singer and performer, I want to make it clear for people when they see my name or hear me perform that they see who I am as a person too."

The Alberta, Canada native has always had a little rock 'n roll in her, influenced at a young age by Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix, but she says she's always been country.

"Ultimately, I'm a country girl at heart, and moving to Nashville made that sink in so much more," she says. "There's nothing like writing a country song, but I just add the rock or blues lick in between."

'Shut Me Up' is available for download on iTunes. A list of upcoming tour dates can be found at LindsayEll.com.
