Lee Ann Womack and Kacey Musgraves took to the stage in Nashville to honor Alan Jackson with a special performance at the 2014 CMT Music Awards.

After an introduction by Carrie Underwood -- who shared that Jackson's concert was the first she ever attended -- the pair teamed up for a simple, heartfelt performance of 'Livin' on Love' that underscored exactly what's so special about Jackson's best work -- namely, the clean melodies, relatable lyrics and universal themes.

Afterward, Underwood came back out to present Jackson with the first-ever CMT Impact Award.

"That song never sounded better," Jackson said, thanking Musgraves and Womack for their performance. He thanked CMT, his video directors and his wife, Denise, as well as his fans.

"It's been a crazy ride, and it's never-ending," he said. "I feel so blessed."
