LeAnn Rimes is back in the studio, putting the finishing touches on a new album due later this year. The singer has already hinted that she is keeping her classic country momentum going on the new project, following her critically-acclaimed 'Lady and Gentlemen' album of traditional country covers. Now we also know the title of this upcoming record ... thanks, in part, to Miranda Lambert!

"@leannrimes always tweets stuff that makes me think. Who runs the world....GULZ! (girls in a dramatic British accent)!:)" Miranda tweeted last week.

"@Miranda_Lambert love it! Thx mamma :)" LeAnn replied, "thinkin is good, unless our hair catches fire from over thinking."

"I do like fire," the 'Kerosene' singer responded, prompting LeAnn to suggest, "Girls and fire ... song in there somewhere!"

"I smell a co-write!" Miranda tweeted back.

"Dang straight," LeAnn replied. "My new album is called "Spitfire" as in "You make me want to spit fire" so, I see us GURLZZZZ starting some heat ... together soon. Let's make it happen. xoxo"

Perhaps a last-minute addition to 'Spitfire' will be a LeAnn/Miranda duet? We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Though no new music from 'Spitfire' has been revealed, it will most likely be yet another return to the Texas native's musical roots. "If this kind of country music was still played, this is all I would do," LeAnn told The Boot last fall when discussing 'Lady and Gentlemen.' "I find myself wanting to write this kind of music and maybe making a record that's similar to the style, but my own material. Maybe we're bringing it back! There's a huge misconception about me, because of the crossover hits that I've had ... but this is where my heart lies and always has."

There's no word yet on when LeAnn's 'Spitfire' album will hit stores. It will be her last contractually obligated project for Curb Records, the label that signed the vocal powerhouse when she was just 11 years old.
