LeAnn Rimes has a new addition to her family -- a four-legged one! After seeing a picture tweeted by her friend, Karla Hoffman, the songstress rescued a puppy that had been abandoned on a busy Los Angeles highway.

"We ALL fell in love at first sight," LeAnn says of the five-pound, eight-month-old pooch (quote via People magazine). "Even our doggies welcomed her instantly."

The new pup was given the name Eveie by LeAnn's eldest stepson (with actor/husband Eddie Cibrian), 9-year-old Mason, who says "she came just in time for Thanksgiving."

LeAnn, who is also stepmom to Eddie's 5-year-old son Jake, has had a tumultuous few months, including a stint in rehab to deal with anxiety and stress, which makes the new puppy's arrival even more sweet.

"She's brought a ton of joy into our home in just the few hours she's been with us," says the singer. "Eveie has a new home and family and we have a new love!"

LeAnn is spending much of the next few months on the road, in anticipation of her upcoming album, Spitfire, which will hit shelves next year. Keep track of her schedule here.
