LeAnn Rimes is set to sing the national anthem at the start of the upcoming Indianapolis 500.

2014 marks the 98th year of the race, which occurs on May 25.  "It is an honor to be picked to sing the anthem," Rimes says (quote via ABC News).

Pre-race festivities will feature 83-year-old actor Jim Nabors singing 'Back Home Again in Indiana.' Nabors has said that this will be his last year singing the song, which he has performed every year since 1972, at the track.

Rimes has suffered from a number of health issues this year that have kept her from performing.

She was hospitalized in March for stomach pains, and was forced to cut short a performance at Oklahoma’s Choctaw Casino later that month when her jaw popped out of place midway through the show.
