Award-winning actor Tom Hiddleston will play Hank Williams in his upcoming biopic, 'I Saw the Light.'

Hiddleston, best known for his role of Loki in the film, 'The Avengers,' will do his own singing in the movie. Bron Studios, which is producing the film, has secured rights to Williams' catalog, including 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry,' 'Your Cheatin' Heart' and 'Hey Good Lookin'.'

'I Saw the Light' will cover both the country crooner's many successes, including his numerous hit songs and music achievements, as well as his personal struggles, resulting in his death at the age of 29 from heart failure brought on by his addiction to pills and alcohol.

Marc Abraham ('Air Force One,' 'For Love of the Game') will produce the film based on Colin Escott's biography of Williams.  James Packer will serve as the executive produce for RatPac Entertainment.

Production is slated to begin in October in Louisiana. No other stars have been announced for the movie.
