Grammy winner and Grand Ole Opry member Larry Gatlin will begin hosting ‘Larry Wayne Gatlin Radio - Only in America’ on Nashville’s 650 AM WSM ‘The Legend’ radio in 2014.

According to a press release, Gatlin will be airing a “mix of music, entertainment, life insights and pro-Nashville conversations” every Tuesday from 2PM to 3PM, beginning Jan. 7. The show will also be available for online streaming and archived on the station’s website.

“WSM has been very good to me over the years, so I hope I am good for WSM,” Gatlin says. “The good folks there are giving me the chance to prove something I have wanted to prove for a long time... that you don’t have to be full of bull to be in show business, but it really helps!”

Gatlin is frequently the host of the Opry Country Classics series on 650 AM WSM. The station is the home of the Grand Ole Opry, and has been broadcasting since Oct. 5, 1925.

“Larry is a legend and one of the funniest, most intuitive guys I’ve ever had the privilege to know,” says 650 AM WSM General Manager, Tom English. “When he expressed his desire to commit to a weekly show on ‘The Legend,’ I knew we had to find a way to make it happen.”
