Lady Antebellum, Audien Mix Country and Sci-Fi in ‘Something Better’ Music Video

Lady Antebellum and Audien have dropped a futuristic video for their song "Something Better." The clip mixes some imagery that country music fans are used to seeing in videos with an out-of-the-ordinary sci-fi storyline.

The video opens with with a young man laying in the bed of his truck, looking at the stars, when he sees something falling to Earth. When he investigates, our country boy finds out that the mysterious object was actually a terrified (and gorgeous) alien girl. Being a gentleman, he takes the alien girl to his house, away from the men in the woods who were trying to track her down, and it's there that she reveals her powers. However, right when things are getting interesting, the men appear and scare her away; just as quickly as the mystery girl from space appeared, she's gone.

“It took us out of our comfort zone,” Lady A member Charles Kelley says of the song. “We’re learning as a band not to be so scared of things. We’ll always stay true to the country genre, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun.”

Lady Antebellum are currently taking a break from the road and "step[ping] away for a little while,” according to Kelley.

"As a band, we’ve talked about wanting to get off the hamster wheel for a little bit and let the fans miss us for a second," he continues. "We want to spend some time to write a record like we did for our first record. But it’s always been go, go, go, so we’ll try to get re-inspired a little bit.”
