Toby Keith will be joined by a very special guest for his upcoming Shut Up and Hold On Tour -- his own daughter. Krystal Keith has been announced as the support act, along with rapper Colt Ford, for the cross-country trek, which kicks off in May.

The songstress, whose first full-length album, 'Whiskey & Lace,' was released last year, might have scored one of the most-coveted opening slots of the year, but she insists she isn't riding on her famous father's coattails.

“I have been singing since I was little bitty, and then doing competitions,” she tells The Boot. “Anytime I was in the circle of my dad, people always knew me as Krystal Keith. I had a small following that saw me grow up and sing in our local Opry. There are going to be those people that don’t listen to the EP or album, and just decide things based on [my name], but if they’re willing to listen to the music with an open mind, I think my music will stand on its own.”

The 28-year-old says that she might have one of the most famous last names in country music, but her musical style all her own, which she illustrates on 'Whiskey & Lace.'

“We picked songs that gave a broader range of what I can do … and I think we accomplished it,” she explains. “I’ve had some people say, ‘Wow, the range of songs that are on there is pretty cool. They aren’t all the same.' There’s blues and rock on the album. It’s not all the same. I think people will be pleasantly surprised that there’s still more to come.”

The Shut Up and Hold On Tour kicks off May 30 in California. See a list of upcoming shows here.
