Kristian Bush is giving back this holiday season by teaming up with Goodwill for a special concert as part of their #GiveItAway campaign.

Bush is set to hold a benefit concert and donation event on Dec. 11 at the Big Texas Dancehall in Houston, Texas. Fans will get free entry to the show when they show up with a financial or physical donation to benefit Goodwill Houston. The event is being sponsored by KKBQ-FM, a station that holds a special place for Bush.

“KKBQ was the first radio station I visited to play my new music at the start of this year. So now it just seems right to wrap up this amazing 2014 with a big holiday blowout in Houston," Bush says. "I’m excited that I get to use my partnership with Goodwill to do something good for this community, and I hope country fans will come out for a great night of live music in the name of giving back.”

Bush hopes to raise awareness of Goodwill's mission to create jobs and transform lives through the #GiveItAway campaign, the idea for which came from Bush's single 'Trailer Hitch,' which is about how we collect so much stuff throughout our lives that we don't really need -- we might as well "give it away."

“The simple act of giving away what you no longer need builds independence and dignity for people who need support to provide for themselves and their families,” says Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International. “Bush’s message in ‘Trailer Hitch’ aligns perfectly with Goodwill’s mission by helping people realize the impact they have by donating the items they no longer need to Goodwill."
