Kristian Bush continues to think outside the country box. The Sugarland guitarist has been working on several other projects while his partner, Jennifer Nettles, adjusts to motherhood with new baby boy, Magnus Hamilton Miller.

The singer-songwriter teamed up with Boys Like Girls frontman Martin Johnson, as well as his brother, Brandon Bush and Atlanta-based producer Jon Traxx, to co-write a new tune, "Stuck in the Middle" for Boys Like Girls' new album, Crazy World, which was released today (Dec. 11).

"If you've ever been in between two choices and neither are good, or torn between the pull of two sides of your life, this song offers an understanding and a release," says Kristian. "I love working with amazing singers, and Martin, like my partner Jennifer, has a way of translating melodies and lyrics that move the heart."

This isn't Kristian's only foray into a genre outside country music. He's also working with actress and singer Lucy Hale for her debut project, which should hit shelves next year, and he's also performing several solo shows, playing tunes that showcase his love of rock music.

Included in Kristian's upcoming solo gigs is a trip across the pond to the C2C: Country to Country Music Festival in London, where he joins an all-star lineup that includes Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill and Little Big Town.

"The first time I toured the U.K. was in the early '90s with Billy Pilgrim, so I know how much the people there love music," Kristian says. "They asked if I'd like to play these shows in Europe, and of course I said yes. The O2 show will be extra special for me -- Vince Gill gave Sugarland our first country tour, Tim McGraw gave us our first standing ovation on television, and Little Big Town was part of our first Grammy nomination. These are my heroes at home and I'm so excited to be on the same stage with them in the U.K."

Other solo gigs for Kristian include playing the CMA Songwriter Series in London, Belfast and Dublin, where he will be joined by Chris Young, Bob DiPiero and Brett James. Keep track of his schedule here.
