Sugarland member Kristian Bush has just released his first solo single in the US, and he's giving one lucky fan the chance to win an an autographed acoustic guitar.

Bush released 'Love or Money' to iTunes on Oct. 10. The song had previously been available only in Europe. Written with Jeff Cohen and Matthew Thiessen, the track came about because of a chance remark.

“Matt had just moved to town, and I asked him, ‘Did you come here for love, or money?’” Bush recalls. “And then we all kind of looked at each other, and I said, ‘Oh. We’re about to write that song, aren’t we?’ Sometimes that’s all it takes: just one great line.”

Bush has had a long break from writing for Sugarland; the duo are on hiatus, and singer Jennifer Nettles is also pursuing solo work, though they assure fans the multi-platinum act have not broken up. Bush says he is enjoying the freedom of working in a different situation.

“I’m just excited to get music out," he states. "I know that sounds cliche, but it’s absolutely true and kind of the story of my year.”

'Love or Money' is available to download at iTunes.
