Kix BrooksKix Brooks opened his winery, Arrington Vineyards, to hundreds on May 19 for a benefit concert to aid the Salvation Army's flood relief efforts in Nashville, according to the Nashville Business Journal.

Maj. Rob Vincent of the Salvation Army told the Journal the funds will be used to provide food, cleaning supplies, clothing, utility assistance, rental assistance, building materials and other support to flood victims.

"If celebrity is worth anything, it's the ability to rally people for a good cause," said Kix.

According to Nashville's Tennesean newspaper, those performing at the sold-out event south of Nashville included Kix, Keith Stegall, Joey + Rory, Ty Herndon, Sherrie Austin, Jason Sellers, Aaron Benward, Stewart Harris, Jim McBride, Dave Gibson and Jamie Lee Thurston. Tickets to the event were sold for $100 a pair, which included event admission, parking and a bottle of Arrington Vineyards wine.

"Never in my 30 years in Nashville have I seen such terrible devastation," Kix said of the historic floods. "But it has been amazing to watch this community come together to overcome this."

The idea for the 'As Long as We Have Voices' benefit came together after Nashville-based consultant and songwriter Kelly Garrett received support from a San Francisco-based direct-sales dermatology group. After contacting Kix, the event came together within days.

"It all started with one consultant who wanted to help her friends and neighbors," Lori Bush, president and general manager of the direct-sales company Rodan and Fields, told the Journal. "It all came together in a very serendipitous way."
