Kip Moore Announced as 2015 Labor of Love Music Festival Headliner
Kip Moore is set to headline the upcoming inaugural Labor of Love Music Festival, to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
The festival, sponsored by Case Construction, aims to help veterans make connections within the skilled trades and to honor those who are currently in the workforce. The event is set to take place in Racine, Wis., on Labor Day 2015 (Sept. 7). Case will also give a donation from the event to the Wounded Warrior Project.
“Labor Day is the perfect time to honor pride and dignity in work, and there may be no group that represents that more than the men and women of the armed services,” Moore says in a press release. “It’s my honor to pay tribute to these people, and all the hard-working people that come out to my shows, and to give back to a community that has been very supportive of me.”
Moore will be joined by local bands Bella Cain and Run Carolina during the festival, with other events, including a 50/50 raffle hosted by the Veterans Outreach Center of Wisconsin and a ceremony honoring veterans, scheduled throughout the day. The "I'm to Blame" singer is scheduled to hit the stage at 6PM. Tickets to the event are currently available here; kids under age 10 will get into the event for free.
“There is a very real skilled labor shortage in America today, from welders and machinists to heavy equipment technicians and operators. It’s important we help develop that next generation of talent and our veterans may be our greatest resource,” says Case's Jim Hasler. “Labor of Love is all about making that connection and helping veterans locally and throughout the United States take that next step in their professional lives.”
Last Labor Day, in conjunction with Case Construction, Moore released a music video for his song "On the Case" to honor the men and women in the construction industry.
Moore's upcoming sophomore album, Wild Ones, is set for release on Aug. 21. The singer will hit the road to support the project on his 2015 Wild Ones Tour, which kicks off in Bethlehem, Pa., on Oct. 8.
