Kip Moore nabbed the 2014 American Country Countdown Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year tonight, beating out a strong group of nominees, then treated fans to a performance of his hit song ‘Hey Pretty Girl.’

Moore triumphed over Brett Eldredge, Tyler Farr, Thomas Rhett and Cole Swindell to win the Breakthrough Artist trophy.

"This has been such a long, hard grind for me,” he said during a passionate acceptance speech. “I wish I could etch so many names on this thing. It may be my name, but there’s so many that deserve this."

Moore went on to thank his management, his band, country radio and his fans.

Moore has a new album coming out soon, but he reached back in time to sing ‘Hey Pretty Girl,’ a smash hit from his debut album, ‘Up All Night.’ Seated on a stool with his band at his side, Moore delivered a simple but compelling rendition of the ballad, which was his third straight Top 10 hit.
