As the hype continues to build for actor turned country singer Kiefer Sutherland’s debut album, the artist has released his newest song.

Titled “Can’t Stay Away,” the second release from his forthcoming release Down in a Hole, Sutherland released the song via YouTube. The lyrics to this track, a decidedly hard turn from Sutherland’s first single “Not Enough Whiskey,” perhaps indicate that he may have been a bit romantically jilted while working on this album.

Got me wrapped around your finger, pullin’ strings to play my heart / You fill the night with conversation and turn the daylight dark / Oh, I can’t stay away,” he sings. “I can feel your blood run through me / Standin’ on a mountain high / Sent to heaven on the devil’s wings / I couldn’t stop her if I tried.

“This record is the closest thing I’ve ever had to a journal or diary. All of these songs are pulled from my own personal experiences,” Sutherland tells Sounds Like Nashville. "There is something very satisfying about being able to look back on my own life, good times and bad, and express those sentiments in music.”

A date has not been yet set for the release of Down in a Hole, though it is expected to land this summer. In the meantime, listen to “Can’t Stay Away” below.
