After announcing his impending retirement in September, Kenny Rogers has revealed the first set of dates on his final tour.

Dubbed the Gambler's Last Deal, Rogers' trek will begin on May 13 in Mahnomen, Minn. Numerous shows -- including stops in New York, California and Oklahoma, among others, as well as overseas in Singapore, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and more -- are currently scheduled through mid-November; as a whole, Rogers' tour is expected to run into 2017, with dates still being added.

“I’m excited about making one more sweep around the world,” Rogers says in a press release. “For more than five decades, I’ve been fortunate enough to have such wonderful, loyal audiences, and their support has meant so much. This final tour is going to be a celebration of all of my music, and I know each night will be truly special."

According to the release, the Gamber's Last Deal shows -- which are being produced by Kelly Junkermann -- will be "a reflective look back through Rogers' storied 50-plus-year career," including personal stories, photos and video clips. The country icon also plans to perform songs that have long been out of his setlist. Linda Davis and Charlie Worsham will act as Rogers' special guests.

Rogers admits that he's looking forward to retirement so that he can spend more time with his twin sons.

“My boys are what’s more important to me now than music,” the Country Music Hall of Famer maintains. “I’ve truly done everything I could do, I’ve won everything I could win, and now my life has to go on.

“I have to be realistic: I’m not as mobile as I used to be on stage,” he adds. “It’s added to my comedy dialogues. [But] it’s really one of those things that takes the fun out of being on stage, when I can’t walk around and do those things.”

Another factor influencing Rogers’ decision is the current state of country music: He doesn’t want to try to compete with today’s stars.

“I think country music is whatever country people will buy. And I think people don’t buy certain kinds of country anymore. So what happens is that, in their efforts to do something different, to set themselves apart from me and the other guys before me, they took it to a different place,” Rogers explains. “Country is very healthy right now — they’re bringing in a lot of kids. But it’s not a type of music that I prefer or that I would want to do, and that’s why I’m getting out.”
