Kenny Chesney was joined by Miranda Lambert for his record-breaking performance at Chicago's Soldier Field on Saturday night (June 6), as part of Chesney's 2015 The Big Revival Tour, and in addition to performing several of her own hits, Lambert also sang with Chesney on his song "You and Tequila."

The tune was originally performed by Chesney and Grace Potter. It appears on Chesney's 2010 Hemmingway's Whiskey album.

“Miranda is a fine artist and a world-class singer,” Chesney says. “To be able to sing with her on "You and Tequila" was amazing because of the grit she brings with the sweet."

The two country superstars also performed a cover of the George Strait classic "Carried Away."

"We couldn’t do just one," Chesney continues. "And man, [Lambert]'s a woman who loves George Strait as much as I do, so she understands the core of what "Carried Away" is all about.”

With his Saturday show, Chesney broke his own attendance record at Soldier Field, selling 55,381 tickets for the show, but he says that the credit belongs to his fans.

“To play somewhere as historic as Soldier Field is truly an honor -- and I think about it every time we’re there -- but to have that audience who’re so wild and willing to share the music, that makes it one of those shows every single tour," he says.

“Maybe it was the year off, but every night we’ve gone out, the band and I can really feel the crowd: their energy, their passion, the way they live these songs as much as love them," Chesney adds. "It knocks the breath out of you a little, hearing the way they sing something like "Anything But Mine" or "I Go Back" to you."

Saturday night was Lambert's only performance on The Big Revival Tour. However, Chesney has invited several artists to join him at various dates on his trek, including Old DominionJason AldeanEric ChurchJake OwenBrantley Gilbert and Chase Rice.

Chesney's tour will take him to North Carolina, Georgia and Florida this week. A list of all of his upcoming shows is available on his website.
